FAQ - Weddings

Q: What is your style?

I love to document. Most of all, storytelling photography (or lifestyle documentary) is about capturing authenticity - the moments, expressions, reactions, connections and details, which will tell us more about a person at that time than a simple portrait would. However, I will direct you at times in order to create beautiful portraits.

Q: Can we meet you before the wedding?

Absolutely. A great way would be an engagement session. However, most of my clients travel from overseas to get married in Wanaka, therefore I am also available by Skype, phone, email, Whatsapp, Facetime. It's very important to get a feel for each other and see whether we are a good match.

Q: Do you offer engagement sessions?

I would recommend adding an engagement session to your wedding collection in order for you to learn how I work and to get fully comfortable in front of my camera.

Q: How long should we allow for the wedding portraits/formals?

Ideally, around 1.5 hours. Please add on any travel time to get to your desired location(s). Before the wedding, we will plan out your wedding day with photography in mind. Out of experience and local knowledge, I can advise on a smooth and relaxed timeline, including travel and transition time.

Q: Can we provide you with a shot list?

Yes, please. You will receive a questionnaire in the lead up where I will ask you if there are any specific photographs that are important to you. Apart from that, I aim to capture your wedding day as it is.

Q: How many photographs will we receive from our wedding day?

For weddings, you can expect between 50 and 80 photos per hour. These photographs are carefully edited and curated. I do not put a maximum on the photos I deliver, so the final count will vary, but I promise I won't leave anything important out.

Q: When and how will we get our photographs?

If I book a wedding, I will block out the following week to fully concentrate on editing my clients' photographs. So, usually within 7 days of your wedding day, you can expect to get a link to your personal online gallery, that will be available for downloading and sharing. I will have your photos backed up on my end, but I highly recommend you download your full gallery and back them up yourselves as well! You will receive personal printing rights and I highly recommend that you print your photos and or create an album. Need help? I love creating albums for my clients. I know how life gets in the way... 

Q: We only want a few casual photographs What can you offer?

If you only require coverage for a short amount of time, I could arrange a bespoke collection for you, if it is during the week or off-season.

Q: Can you design an Album for us?

Within four days of your session, an online gallery will be made available for you to enjoy, share and download your digital photographs. Depending on your aspirations, you will also be presented with album design from your chosen favourite photographs. In the album price included are the album, pre-design, two revisions and delivery to your doorstep. I am working very efficiently and aim for you holding your album four weeks after your wedding day.

Q: What is the booking process and how does payment work?

All I need to hold your date on my calendar is a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer of NZD1'000. The remaining balance is due one month before your date. If you would like to split the remaining balance up into smaller payments, I am happy to work with you on that.
